AYO ONATADE

Miss Ayoola Adepeju Onatade. Born in London 1965. 2nd eldest out of 4
(She has a twin sister!). Has held a various number of different jobs
within the Civil Service and currently works as a clerk to a judge in the
Court of Appeal London.

She first started reading crime fiction in 1975. She read her first crime
fiction book on a plane from London to Lagos Nigeria when she was 10. The book was The Mysterious Affair at Styles by that doyen of crime fiction writers Agatha Christie. She has not got a favourite book or author (it would be too difficult for her to choose!). However she does have a penchant for historical crime fiction. Her two favourite authors in this sub-genre are Lindsay Davis and Steven Saylor. She reads most types of books and has at her last unfinished count over 1700.

She is an avid subscriber of Dorothy L a newsgroup on the Internet but consider herself to be more of a “lurker” than a “poster”. Her nom de plume is Dr Calista Marley (one half of Bill Pomidor’s husband and wife team). She also reviews books for SHOTS the crime fiction magazine and is a member of the reading group that is held at Crime in Store, London.

Ayo is also an avid Simpsons fan and tries as hard as possible not to miss an episode. Her favourite way of reading a book is curled up in the corner of her sofa at home with a drink to keep her company. Preferably wine!

It is well known amongst her friends that if they check her bag that she will normally have at least two books with her. In summary she loves to read crime fiction and takes every opportunity to do so. She secretly believes that her collections of books are seen as the family library as various members often borrow them.
