‘The Sugar Cookie Murder’ by Joanne Fluke
Published by ISBN 0-7582-0681-X

Hannah Swensen, the owner of a local cookie shop, has been working on the official Lake Eden cookbook for months, and now it's time for all the recipes to be tested at a pot luck dinner. Everyone is having a great time, and talking about Martin Dubinski and his new wife, a Vegas showgirl called Brandi Wyen. But then Hannah finds Brandi, who has been stabbed with Hannah=s mother's antique cake knife. The winter storm has turned into a blizzard, and everyone is trapped inside with the killer. Hannah and Mike have to solve the crime while they still can, and without letting anyone else know what's going on.

The Sugar Cookie Murder is a bit shorter than the other books in the series (the last 168 pages contains all the recipes mentioned throughout, including everything from lasagne to pecan pie to catfish bait), but is still a very good, lighthearted book that contains many important character developments, and has an unexpected twist at the end.
