‘Dead Secret ’

This is the 3rd book in the series about forensic anthropologist and Natural History Museum director Diane Fallon.   They are all  exciting books about a really appealing heroine with her two careers existing conveniently side by side and I have enjoyed reading each of them.  The setting is Rosewood, Georgia and the physical conditions and human attitudes of that part of the US are beautifully shown.   The adventure for Diane on this occasion begins when she discovers a decades-old skeleton while caving.  Other cases and events crowd in as she sets about discovering who the victim was and how he came to die.   Diane is a survivor and her strengths become apparent as she faces many difficult situations within and outside the museum.  Ultimately she surmounts all that is thrown in her way but it takes a considerable physical and mental toll.   The reader becomes completely involved in Diane’s experiences and the

difficulties of her situation are cleverly resolved by the end
