With her car blown up for the umpteenth time, Stephanie Plum, Bounty Hunter is again driving ‘Big Blue’, late Uncle Sanders’ powder blue Buick which corners like a refrigerator (not that I have ever driven a refrigerator, but you get the drift).  Unfortunately Stephanie strays into Stark Street which is Slayer land, that’s gang land,  and on the same day disturbs a robbery while collecting lunch from the local deli. As she can identify the robber, she becomes the target of a gang and  worse, they put out a contract on her - the killer they have hired is known as junkman - scary!

Her cop boyfriend Joe Morelli wants her to stay home and stay safe, but Stephanie doesn’t do ‘stay home’ and  she can’t go to her parents’ home as she doesn’t want to bring danger to her family. Mysterious, sexy Ranger has left town and left her his car, so what’s a girl to do - find the batcave?

Meanwhile, life goes on - Sister Valerie is getting married and the wedding arrangements have hit a snag, but transvestite Sally Sweet turns up and takes on the job of wedding planner - he seem to have a flare for colour, so that cheers up Valerie, although Stephanie’s not too impressed with a bridesmaid dress in pumpkin. Wait till she sees the final choice -  eggplant!  Lula is still toting her Glock and seeking any opportunity to use it, and Grandma  Mazur is still frequenting the local undertakers - a bit like you and me at the local pub.

Lorelei King is simply terrific - her portrayal of all the characters is amazing, but especially Ranger and Sally Sweet.
