Dying for Millions is the fourth in the Sophie Rivers series by Judith Cutler to be found on unabridged audiotape.

Sophie has every reason to be proud of her famous cousin Andy. Why not? He is a celebrated rock and roll star who has just made himself even better known by giving up the music business so that he can spend the rest of his life campaigning for good causes. If this is true then why should someone want him dead, to the extent that an obituary is put in the local papers?

The incidents begin with relatively meaningless acts, a bit of graffiti and vandalism. However, Sophie soon begins to fear for her cousin’s life when one of his roadies plunges to his death after drinking some of Andy’s drink. Soon Sophie’s life is in danger when the killer fed up of being frustrated in his attempts to kill Andy decides to focus his behaviour on her instead.

Having not long ago finished listening to Dying on Principle on audiotape; I was interested to find out whether or not Diana Bishop had managed to maintain the standard that she had set in on the earlier tapes. I was not disappointed. Once again, Diana Bishop has managed to bring all the characters to life and you felt that you could imagine them in your minds eye. She has managed to pick up the pace in the right places and one can clearly envisage what is going on. Isis Audio Books have certainly picked the right person to read these books and they will do well to stay with her. If you are a fan of the Sophie Rivers series and prefer to listen to books on tape then this latest edition to the series will certainly not disappoint the listener.
