When Rose Trevelyan is commissioned by Louisa and Wendy, two sisters living in a remote farmhouse on Bodmin Moor, she is intrigued as to why they want their portrait painted, but believes that they are eccentric, and is mindful that the commission could do much to further her career.
Meanwhile she continues teaching her art class. One of her students Joel Penhaligon is showing real promise, and when he asks her to intercede for him with his father who is set against him making a career as an artist, she agrees to speak with his parents. In agreeing to do so, she learns more about the boy and his sadness at the disappearance of his cousin Miranda. over a year ago.
When a chance occurrence links these two families together Rose finds herself drawn into a puzzling mystery.
Rose’s love life has taken a backward step in that she has yet again refused attractive Detective Jack Pearce, but how will she feel if he looks else where? Meanwhile Barry is still around, and with her parents visiting for Christmas and a Christmas Eve party to organise she has a lot going on., but htne one of the sisters turns up on her doorstep and she is not happy!
Patricia Gallimore did a good job with the Cornish accents, she certainly made
Rose come alive. I hope to listen to more of Rose’s investigation read by Patricia.
