Rachel Bowden learns of her father duplicity from her dying mother, and is filled with hatred for the pain that had been inflicted on her mother, and the injustice to herself.
Lorna Daniels disappears on her wedding day leaving her fiance Robbie Pearce devastated. At first the family assume that she has had second thoughts about the marriage, but then a series of mishaps befall the family. At first they are put down to accidents, but then matters take a very serious turn when a death occurs.
Robbie is convinced that if he can find Lorna and just talk to her, things can be put right. But where is Lorna. As he sets out to find her he begins to wonder if he really knew her.
Initially the police are not involved with the matter of a bride who changed her mind. But pursing a stabbing DCI Ian Roper finds a lot of unanswered questions, and then he too would like to speak to Lorna Daniels, but like Robbie, he and his team seem to come up against blank walls at every turn.
A fascinating psychological mystery.
Patricia Gallimore has a great range of voices, but I think of her as Pat Archer,
and although she uses a completely different accent for Pat Archer, she cannot
disguise the tone and inflection of her voice, and to me she is Pat Archer reading
the book., but I quite like that it’s like listening to a book read by a member
of ones family. Guess who’s an Archers addict!
